A home was heavily damaged by a fire in Banks County Wednesday night.
Banks County Fire and Emergency Services officials said the fire was at a home on Mt. Bethel Road near Commerce and was reported just after 8:20 p.m. When crews got to the scene, they reportedly found smoke and fire showing from the home.
The fire was put out quickly, with officials saying the home suffered "moderate" damage. No one was home at the time of the blaze, and the American Red Cross has been called to assist the family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
