A motorcycle chase in Gwinnett County led to an arrest of a Grayson man according to authorities.
The Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) reports that on Feb. 27, an officer saw a motorcycle performing wheelies on Interstate 85. When he tried to pull 20-year-old Nicholas Stephens over, he sped off onto Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth.
The officer decided not to pursue after body camera footage showed Stephens speeding away through a red light, and the aviation unit on duty tracked Stephens to a storage facility in Lawrenceville.
Officers from the Lawrenceville Police Department and deputies from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Stephens until the original GCPD sergeant arrived to make the arrest.
Stephens was charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to elude police, and six other traffic-related offenses.
