There's nothing like hope. And northeast Georgia area teams are hoping things get back to normal on Friday as a full slate of region contests awaits.
Mother Nature has wreaked havoc on the schedule the entire week with four games still be made up from Tuesday's washout. All but one of the 29 games on tap Friday involve key region showdowns, with the Buford girls playing host to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee as the only non-region game.
Region 8-3A also will be back in action after taking a week off, including the Class 3A No. 1-ranked Cherokee Bluff boys, who take on Monroe Area. The No. 2-ranked Jefferson girls will be at West Hall.
In Region 6-3A, North Hall plays host to the No. 1-ranked Pickens girls while Dawson County and Lumpkin County renew their rivalry in a pair of key 6-3A games in Dahlonega.
Gainesville takes on Lanier at the Davis-Hill Gymnasium in Region 7-5A while the Class 5A No. 4 Habersham County boys play host to Jackson County in an 8-5A matchup.
