OAKWOOD, Ga. — West Hall has hired former White County boys coach Robbie Bailey to lead the Lady Spartans basketball program, pending board approval.

West Hall athletic director Trevor Catrett announced on Monday.

“We are excited for Robbie to join our staff and take over our Girls Basketball program," West Hall athletic director Trevor Catrett said. "For me, it has come full circle. I have known Coach Bailey since the fall of 1999, when he started his career at Flowery Branch Elementary School, and I was a student at West Hall. He has had a profound impact on my career.

"With over two decades of dedicated service to various schools in Georgia, Robbie brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to his new position. Robbie is thrilled to join West Hall High School as the head girls basketball coach and looks forward to building a strong, competitive program. His legacy of excellence in teaching and coaching is an inspiration to many."

Bailey began his career in Hall County, making stops at West Hall and East Hall high schools and West Hall Middle School. He then held positions at Rabun County, Banks County, and White County. He left White County after the 2023 basketball season, during which time he led the Warriors to their first region championship.

"I want to thank Dr. Hathcock and Coach Catrett for believing in me and allowing me to lead the West Hall Lady Spartans. West Hall holds a special place in my heart, and I am super excited to come in and build a program with our players and coaching staff," Bailey said. "I also want to thank my wife Amy, our five children, and two sons-in-law for always supporting me in my coaching journey.”-
