LILBURN, Ga. — Dawson County’s second-half effort was almost enough in the 21-16 loss to Greater Atlanta Christian on the road Saturday.
Trailing 14-6 at the half, the Tigers (1-4, 0-2 Region 6-3A) outpaced the Spartans (2-3, 2-0 Region 6-3A), 10-7, scoring a late TD off a pass from Gunner Weaver to Dylan Edwards.
Aden Bannister led the Tigers rushing attack with 20 carries for 106 yards. Weaver finished the day 14-0f-27 for 148 yards, a TD and one interception.
GAC’s Tommy Young was 10-of-25 for 162 yards passing with two TDs and one interception. Maceo Woodward rushed 15 times for 73 yards and a score.
