Wreck in Habersham County Thursday evening injures driver

An overturned vehicle crash in Habersham County Thursday night leaves a driver with minor injuries.

The Habersham County E-911 dispatchers began receiving calls at around 7:20 p.m. for an overturned vehicle on Georgia. 17 near Hayes Corner in Clarkesville. A Habersham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit reported entrapment in the vehicle and a broken utility pole.

A release from Habersham County spokesman Rob Moore says that the vehicle's unidentified occupant was freed and transported by ambulance for care. Both lanes of Georgia 17 were closed between the two ends of Cool Springs Road until about 9 p.m. Thursday.  

The exact cause for the wreck is now under Georgia State Patrol investigation.
