The Georgia Department of Transportation will temporarily close Ga. 197 Sunday night for a cross-drain culvert replacement.
The closure will begin Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. with the repairs projected to be completed within two to eight hours.
Northbound traffic on Ga. 197 will be diverted right onto Watts Mill Road then left onto Raper Mountian Road back to Ga. 197. Southbound traffic on Ga.197 will turn left onto Raper Mountian Road then turn right onto Watts Mill Road back to Ga.197, according to a release from Habersham County officials.
Habersham County Emergency Services and Habersham County Sheriff’s Office have been made aware of the closure and are prepared to respond to homes and businesses in the area as needed.
