Shoal Creek Road will close down on Feb. 10 for five months to replace the bridge in Dawson County.
According to Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) records, the bridge replacement of Shoal Creek Road at Shoal Creek will cost over $3.5-million.
GDOT’s reasoning for doing the project is due to the bridge being deficient and cracking along beams.
Talley Construction Company, Inc. is the contractor, with the current completion date set for Nov. 30 of this year according to GDOT.
Dawson County Government’s reminder said the road will only be closed until July 10.
“We have future plans to repave the entire road and add a roundabout, so stay tuned,” the post reads.
