Northeast Georgia Health System’s new Medical Plaza 1 officially opened Monday in Bethlehem.
The two-story, 34,000-square-foot building offers six specialty practices and an urgent care center.
“Seeing this building come to fruition in a community that means so much to me is a special thing,” Carol Burrell, president and CEO of NGHS, said in a release. “I grew up in Barrow County, so knowing these services will be here for generations, with providers who bring their best every day, is a perfect picture of what we mean when we say NGHS is ‘Growing the Greater Good.’”
Medical Plaza 1 is home to the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Family Health Associates, NGPG Orthopedic Surgery, NGPG Sports Medicine, as well as the Georgia Heart Institute. The facility also offers general surgery, and will provide OB-GYN services beginning in September.
All services inside Medical Plaza 1 are directly connected to all five Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s hospital campuses in the region, which allows patients to receive all resources of the health system.
“We’re thrilled that people who trust us with their primary care will now have so many high-quality specialists literally right next door when needed,” Garey Huff, Jr., MD, a family medicine physician with NGPG Family Health Associates, said. “That should make it so much easier for people to have multiple appointments all in one place.”
The new facility is located at 990 Loganville Highway, near the intersection of Carl-Bethlehem Road. The plaza’s urgent care is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
