The Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation’s James H. Downey Society physicians have pledged thousands of dollars to a forthcoming facility within the system.
The group pledged $100,000 to the Chuck and Diane Stephens Hospice House. The completely donor-funded project aims to give end-of-life care for patients in a home-like setting.
The facility offers an alternative for at-home and inpatient hospice care. Programming will provide 24-hour care and complementary therapies and support for patients and their families.
James H. Downey Society is a group of NGHS physicians who select an area of need within the health system to focus all of their donations each year. The group frequent;ly works with Good News Clinics as well as other philanthropic healthcare initiatives.
