Gwinnett County Police have arrested five people and seized over 100 grams of methamphetamine this week.
On July 24, officers were investigating the theft of construction materials at a nearby site.
Cameras showed the suspected vehicle at a nearby gas station.
This led to officers interviewing the occupants of the vehicle, which officials say allowed them to discover multiple individuals involved in the theft.
A multi-day investigation led officers to charge 49-year-old Joseph Menelao of Lawrenceville and 37-year-old Melissa Hood-Conley of Sugar Hill with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession and use of drug-related objects, loitering, and felony theft by taking.
41-year-old Joanna Barrett of Lawrenceville was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.
50-year-old Brian Prather of Lawrenceville was charged with felony theft by taking and loitering and 48-year-old Casey Joe Brooks of Winder was charged with giving a false name to a law enforcement officer.
In total, the five individuals face 13 total charges, with seven being misdemeanors and six being felonies.
