The City of Winder's Chief Information Officer has been appointed as the Third-Vice President of the Georgia chapter of GMIS (Government Management Information Sciences) International.
John Rorke will begin serving in the prestigious role on July 1, 2024. A press release from the City of Winder says this appointment positions Rorke on a path to become the President of the Georgia Chapter for GMIS International within the next four years.
Current President and Georgia Secretary of State CIO Jonathan Reich said, “John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the industry. Having him join the board of directors is exciting, as we are looking forward to his contributions and leadership of our organization in the future.”
Winder's CIO was nominated by a committee and elected by the Georgia GMIS members. Rorke has been marked by innovative approaches to technology and management while serving as Winder's CIO.
As Third-Vice President, Rorke will have the opportunity to influence the direction and development of GMIS in Georgia, focusing on promoting best practices and enhancing the capabilities of IT services across local governments.
GMIS International is renowned in the field of government IT by developing and fostering professional public sector IT management.
