Overpass construction and maintenance continues along Browns Bridge Road at Georgia 400

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Officials with GDOT and Forsyth County say that work will continue on the bridge overpass lanes for Browns Bridge Road (SR 369) at exit 18 for Georgia-400 through the weeks ahead.

Forsyth County Manager David McKee says in a release that the work on the overpass has restricted lanes since May 20 in order to modify the overpass' northbound lanes and prevent possible settlement on the west side of the bridge. The current work is being completed to meet GDOT service life requirements on the overpass and west side exit ramp area.

McKee adds that the bridge remains safe for all commuters while the enhancements are being made.

GDOT and Forsyth County officials anticipate that there will be no major traffic impacts on Browns Bridge Road while traffic is flowing in one lane for each direction along the southbound side of the overpass.

The reopening timeline of the northern side of the Browns Bridge Road overpass will be determined following the review and completion of any needed modifications. Information regarding the full opening of all four lanes on the overpass will be communicated through the Forsyth County website, forsythco.com, and social media channels.
