A Flowery Branch man is behind bars after authorities said he stole from a hardware store and was later found in possession of several illegal drugs.

A release Tuesday afternoon from the Flowery Branch Police Department said Charles Quentin Malin, age 45, was arrested Monday night following a traffic stop. Malin had warrants for his arrest from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, where officials there said he had stolen a bandsaw from Howard Brothers Outdoor Power and Hardware near Lula.

Flowery Branch police also reportedly found multiple bags of suspected marijuana and methamphetamine, a small bag of fentanyl and a counterfeit $100 bill in Malin's possession during the traffic stop.

Malin is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond on charges including theft by shoplifting, possession of the various drugs and forgery.
