The Habersham County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will conduct a recount of the May 21 General Primary Commission District 1 race at the request of Incumbent Bruce Palmer.
Palmer was the only incumbent commissioner who was not re-elected in the May 21 primary. The unofficial numbers from the race showed Palmer received 30.72% of the vote, while Kell Woodall received 38.2% and Eric Holbrooks received 31.08%.
The State of Georgia allows recount requests if the vote is within the margin of .5%.
The board will conduct the machine recount on Monday, June 3 at its office in Cornelia.
