Barrow County hires their next Clerk for County Government

A new hire for Barrow County's government offices will be in place during the days ahead.

Barrow County Manager Srikanth Yamala's office has announced the hiring of Abril Olivas to their staff, as the new Clerk for the County, effective June 3. 

Olivas will be responsible for the maintenance of official county records and will direct executive-level support to the Board of Commissioners and the County Manager.

She currently serves as the Deputy Clerk for Hall County, where she oversees open records requests, prepares agenda items, and provides critical administrative support for the organization.

Yamala says in Tuesday's press release, “Abril brings a high level of skill, knowledge and energy to this role. Her overall experience in administrative and local government roles will make her a valuable asset to the county.”

Olivas worked in the private sector as a legal assistant for 11 years before her career in local government, and is a member of the Georgia Clerks Association.

Olivas is a graduate of Johnson High School in Oakwood and is, "...excited about this opportunity, and I look forward to providing the highest quality service to the board, staff and the citizens of Barrow County,”
