Some Memorial Day events in Hall County for Monday's observance

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

A handful of events are planned to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country's freedom.

Monday's Memorial Day events include the annual vigil at Memorial Park South Cemetery in Flowery Branch starting at 6:00 a.m. as law enforcement and military officials will be on hand until 7:00 p.m.

Hall County Sheriff's Office and other Honor Guard members are scheduled to take time for a 21-gun salute at 12:00 noon at the cemetery.

Also, Gainesville's traditional Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, stepping off from Green Street at 10:00 a.m., with the streets blocked off along the route to Downtown Gainesville starting after 8:30 a.m.

WDUN is proud to take part in that event, to remember those who fought and died for the rights and liberties available to all Americans today.
