Quick thinking and fast reactions by Rabun County and City of Clayton law enforcement saves the life of a Clayton resident from a potentially devastating fire.
Rabun Sheriff's Office social media posts say their units discovered the scene of an apartment fire outside a unit along Shadyside Drive late Wednesday evening. Sheriff's Office Corporal Cody Dills was the first to act and doused the fire with an extinguisher from his vehicle, while an unidentified tenant was inside sleeping and unaware of the fire.
Rabun County deputies and Clayton safety officials contained the damage and prevented the fire from spreading into the complex.
