A single-vehicle rollover crash on I-985 in southern Hall County Monday left two teenagers injured, with one of them listed in serious condition.
A report from the Georgia State Patrol said the crash happened around 1:00 p.m. when a Ford Transit van was going north on the interstate near the Plainview Road bridge between Flowery Branch and Oakwood. The driver, Jose Carrillo Hernandez, age 18 of Snellville, reportedly failed to maintain his lane and went into the grass median.
The van then hit a guardrail and overturned several times, landing across both northbound lanes.
Carrillo Hernandez was visibly injured, according to the State Patrol. His passenger, Victor Servin, age 18 of Winder, was thrown from the vehicle and landed on the interstate. He was seriously injured.
The interstate was completely shut down for just under a half hour while officials worked the scene. All lanes were re-opened around 2:30 p.m.
The State Patrol says charges are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
