Strategic planning and logistical efforts for the City of Lawrenceville's Events Team have recently been recognized for their work during an annual conference of statewide event planning groups.
A release from Lawrenceville city officials highlights the Events Team's seven awards from the Southeast Festivals & Events Association (SFEA) 2024 Kaleidoscope Awards Gala, a part of their annual conference.
Led by Community & Economic Development Director Jasmine Billings, members of the City Events Team and City Tree Board w ere honored for their achievements at the February City Council meeting for their work on several recent events.
Honored members include Jasmine Billings, Lawrenceville's community & economic development director; Lindsey Broome, events & programs manager, Milo Sather, event coordinator; Elyssa Pate, event coordinator; Helen Balch, planning & development deputy director; Paul Lorenc, city planner; Madison Smith, stormwater coordinator; and Carlie Perez, GIS manager.
The city's Events Team received accolades from the SFEA 2024 Kaleidoscope Awards Gala in Jeckyll Island from the following categories:
- Kaleidoscope Award for Best Festival or Event Under $75,000 in Budget: Free Comic Book Day
- Gold Award for Best Event Within an Event: Arbor Day Tree Giveaway
- Silver Award for Best Merchandise: Lawrenceville’s Lit T-Shirt
- Silver Award for Best New Event: The Lawrenceville Boogie
- Bronze Award for Best Festival or Event Under $20,000 in Budget: Beats on the Streets Free Public Art Series
- Bronze Award for Best Art Activation: Lawrenceville Blooms Community Mural
- Bronze Award for Best Event Impact Support: Weatherlincs, LLC
Billings says in the press release, "This achievement speaks volumes about the dedication and hard work of our team members. We look forward to continuing to provide memorable experiences for our residents and visitors alike."
The Southeast Festivals & Events Association is a 501 (c) 6 membership-based organization composed of festival and event planners, venues, and industry service providers. which was founded in 2009 to strengthen the festivals and events industry throughout the Southeastern United States by hosting educational sessions, networking opportunities, award recognition and additional events throughout the year.
