A Commerce woman has been arrested after a standoff with officers at a home on the northeast side of the city Saturday afternoon.
A social media post by the Commerce Police Department said officers were called to a complaint of a disorderly person on Baugh Street. When they arrived, the woman who reportedly was the subject of the complaint made threats to the officers through a broken window and brandished a rifle.
Officers shut down Baugh Street and a portion of nearby State Street and went door-to-door to evacuate nearby residents. The woman, at that point, had reportedly barricaded herself inside the home.
A SWAT team and hostage negotiator from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office was then called to assist Commerce officers at the scene. Dee Figueroa, age 60, was reportedly arrested without further incident.
Figueroa is being held in the Jackson County Jail without bond on multiple counts each of terroristic threats and aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer.
No injuries were reported in the incident. All roads in the area were re-opened by Saturday evening.
