Gwinnett Police recover $1M of stolen construction equipment

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter
The Gwinnett County Police Department recently recovered stolen construction equipment believed to be valued at $1 million while serving a search warrant.

GCPD officers were serving a warrant at a home on Tuggle Road in Buford Friday for narcotic and property crimes investigations when they located a large supply of construction equipment in both a garage attached to the home and a separate garage behind the house.

Authorities believed some of the material may have been stolen from local Home Depot and Lowes stores as part of a retail theft operation and called those companies’ loss prevention divisions to identify potential stolen property, according to a release from the department.

The stolen materials included residential flooring, doors, windows, electrical wire, lights, fans, tools, hardware, and appliances. Detectives also suspect some of the property may have been taken from construction sites in the area.

Authorities also found a large number of pills, all of which are believed to be Schedule 1 and 2 narcotics during the search.

Investigators have charged 60- year-old Bobby Mosley, 41- year- old Charles Mosley, 48- year-old Estuesta Fortuna Rogelio Jr., and 50- year- old Regina Crane with VGCSA Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute.

More charges may be forthcoming for the suspects as investigators conduct an inventory of the stolen property, authorities said.
