GATLINBURG, Tenn. — Jamarcus Harrison continued to light up the eastern Tennessee mountains on Friday night.
The East Hall junior guard poured in 21 points to lead the Vikings to a 73-67 victory over Pikeville (Ky.) in the semifinals of the Smoky Mountain Classic.tournament at Gatlinburg Pittman High School.
Harrison has scored 45 points in the first two rounds of the three-day tournament. The win put East Hall (10-2) into the finals of the tournament against undefeated Hazard (Ky.) on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m.
The Vikings started strong, jumping out to a 21-13 lead in the first quarter and pushed their advantage to 42-30 by halftime. East Hall maintained a double-digit lead until Pikeville got hot in the fourth quarter. Pikeville outscored East Halll 20-13 over the final 8 minutes but tHe Vikings held on down the stretch.
Chasen Jones added 15 points and and Bray Langston scored 11 for East Hall. Jordan Richerson and Khalil Goss each chipped in 9 points for the Vikings.
