Girls basketball: Chestatee stays hot in Smoky Mountain Classic

GATLINBURG, Tenn. — The Chestatee girls continued their hot play on Thursday, routing Pike County Central (Ky.) 74-32 in the first round of the Smoky Mountain Classic.

The tournament is being hosted by Gatlinburg Pittman High School.

It was the fifth straight win for Chestatee (8-4) and comes on the heels of winning their second-ever Lanierland title last week.

Senior Caroline Bull paced the Lady War Eagles with 22 points, including the 1,000-point of her career. Freshman Ali Jae Bull poured in 16 points to go with 6 rebounds and 7 assists (including the assist on her sister’s 1,000th point).

Junior Blakely Boyd added 14 points and senior Addison Boyd had 12 points and 5 rebounds for Chestatee. Jamya Weaver chipped in with 6 points and 8 rebounds and Payton Cable pull down 10 rebounds for the Lady War Eagles. 

Chestatee next will take on Cosby (Tenn.) on Friday at 11:30 a.m.
