It's official.
Gerald Couch has taken the oath as Hall County's Sheriff for his fourth term at the helm of the department. Couch was sworn into office Thursday afternoon at the Old Hall County Courthouse. Probate Judge Patty Walters Laine administering the oath of office and State Representative Matt Dubnik holding the Bible for Sheriff Couch’s oath.
Many serving from all divisions of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office were able to attend along with members of the Hall County Commission and Sheriff Couch's family.
Couch joined the Hall County Sheriff's Office in 1981 and served in the ranks of Jailer, Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Investigator, Sergeant and Lieutenant. Before returning to Hall County. He then served as the Major of the Gainesville Police Department before he was first elected Hall County Sheriff in 2012.
