An officer-involved shooting in Snellville resulted in a man being transported to a local hospital.

The Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) is reporting that at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for complaints of gunshots coming from a residence on Holland Drive.

The caller allegedly said they heard four to five shots, followed by screaming.

When officers arrived, they reportedly heard arguing inside of the residence. When officers went to make contact, an adult male walked out of the front.

One of the officers saw he was allegedly armed with a handgun.

GCPD said that the officer announced himself, and the male pointed the gun at the officer.

The officer fired one shot and struck the male.

Officers secured the firearm and began rendering aid before the male was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition according to GCPD.

The identity of the male is not being released at this time, although GCPD did say charges against the man are pending.
