Boys basketball: EHall opens with win at home; Branch continues hot start to season

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — The Flowery Branch boys basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 63-53 win over Dawson County on the road Tuesday.

Jack Huey scored 17 points, and Joell Bennett added 14 to lead the Falcons in the win. Brayden Lee netted 10 points.

The Falcons led 28-24 at halftime and extended the lead to nine points by the end of the third quarter.

Branch will host Forsyth Central on Thursday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Vikings opened their season with an impressive victory over the rival Trojans on Tuesday in Valhalla.

East Hall (1-0) stormed out to a 21-13 lead after the first quarter and extended its lead to 44-24 by halftime. North Hall (1-1) outscored the Vikings 18-11 in the third quarter to trim the lead to 55-42 but they could not get any closer. The Vikings exploded for a 23-point fourth to put the game out of reach.

Bray Langston paced East Hall with 23 points. Chasen Jones adedd 19, Jordan Richerson had 9, and Jamarcus Harrison 8 points for the Vikings.

East Hall next will travel to Banks County on Friday. North Hall is off until heading to Forsyth Central on Nov. 19.
