A second overturned chicken truck crash in as many weeks has affected roadways in Hall County.
During the overnight hours on Monday, Hall County Sheriff's Office reported that1st Street at Athens Highway was closed after 11:00 p.m. until 5:30 Tuesday morning due to a chicken truck crash.
The mess of combined live and dead chickens was responsible for forcing safety crews to work through the night and early morning hours to remove debris and the tractor trailer.
Police detail was forced to detour traffic onto A-Avenue during the cleanup effort.
The cause for the crash remains under investigation. Hall County dispatchers reported that the roadway was cleared and reopened shortly after 5:30 Tuesday morning.
A similar chicken truck crash on Friday, September 22nd blocked parts of Athens Highway at Al Mangum Road on September.
