A man from Gainesville suffered traumatic injuries after a hit-and-run involving a moped Tuesday night on Limestone Parkway at Wildwood Circle.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded at around 9:10 p.m., where they learned a car had hit a moped and the unidentified car driver fled from the scene.
The moped operator, Jerrett Albert Peltier, 52, of Gainesville, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment.
Deputies contacted the Accident Investigation Unit after learning of Peltier's injuries.
The initial AIU investigation determined, Peltier was northbound on Limestone Parkway when he was hit from behind by a 2007-14 Ford Mustang, according to witnesses.
Deputies and investigators searched the area but did not locate the car. They believe the vehicle continued north on Limestone Parkway and then went north on U.S. 129/Cleveland Highway.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing. Anyone with information on the suspect driver or vehicle should contact AIU Investigator Jeffries at (470) 768-2067 or [email protected].
