A pair of highway crashes in Habersham County during Tuesday evening's commute resulted in multiple injuries and created delays for travelers.
The first wreck, a two-vehicle crash along Ga. 365 southbound at Alto-Mud Creek Road on Tuesday afternoon, significantly impacted rush-hour traffic from Habersham County.
Details were limited, but the Georgia State Patrol said a vehicle was traveling westbound on Alto-Mud Creek Road from the median crossover. That vehicle failed to yield and traveled in front of a vehicle driving south on Ga. 365, causing a collision.
Officials say the crash occurred at around 4:45 p.m. and forced travel lanes to be blocked until nearly 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, creating area delays.
A second crash on Ga. 365 happened about 45 minutes later by Rock Road near Stephens County, leaving two people hurt, according to Habersham County's spokesman Rob Moore.
This wreck involved a passenger vehicle and a commercial work truck. The cause for both incidents remains under investigation by area law enforcement officials.
