A multi-vehicle wreck in Jefferson on Friday led to one driver suffering potentially serious injuries.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), 24-year-old Trevaughn Gibson of Sugar Hill was traveling on U.S. 129 while it was stopped due to traffic at around 7:30 a.m.
He reportedly came up behind another vehicle driven by 41-year-old Bikash Das of Athens “at a high rate of speed.”
55-year-old Torrance Crawford of Savannah was in front of Das’ vehicle.
GSP reports that Gibson did not apply brakes but attempted to swerve to miss striking Das’ vehicle.
That attempt reportedly failed, with Gibson’s vehicle striking Das’ and then continuing straight, striking a tractor-trailer driven by 55-year-old Torrance Crawford of Savannah in the rear.
Crawford was in front of Das at the time of the collision.
Gibson’s vehicle then rolled. He was cited and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) with suspected serious injuries.
