A two-vehicle accident Friday morning in Hart County at the intersection of Ga. 17 and Ga. 51 left one person dead and three with injuries.

Georgia State Patrol Troopers responded at approximately 7:36 a.m. from Post 52 in Hartwell to the scene of a two-vehicle accident. A 2006 Pontiac G6 was reportedly traveling west on Ga. 51 when it failed to stop at a posted stop sign, according to reports from the GSP.

The Pontiac turned into the northbound lane of Ga. 17 when it was struck on the driver’s side by a 2011 Ford Explorer that was traveling north on Ga. 17.

The driver of the Pontiac, Linda Small Christie, 59, of Hartwell, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Explorer, Frankie Keller, 57, of Royston, as well as his two passengers, Sheree Keller, 32, also of Royston and a 16-year-old minor, all received minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

A citation was issued to Keller for having no valid vehicle insurance, according to GSP officials.
