A Baldwin woman was killed in an accident on Sunday, Jun 1, near Homer.
Steve Nichols with Banks County Fire and Emergency Services said units responded to 1312 HWY 198 at around 6:09 p.m.
Georgia State Patrol identified the victim as Cynthia Deckner Humphry, 70.
Banks County units found a vehicle in a ditch in front of Humphry’s home. She was extricated from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to GSP, Humphry was driving down a private driveway when she drove off the driveway to the right, attempting to evade a closed gate and struck a telephone pole.
After she hit the telephone pole, the vehicle ran off the left side of the driveway and nearly 50 feet down an embankment.
