GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Chestatee improved to 5-2 on the season after sweeping a tri-match on Tuesday at home.
The Lady War Eagles knocked off Lumpkin County 2-1 and beat Flowery Branch 2-0.
Junior outside hitter Valiree Schmus was dominant tallying 28 kills and 3 aces in the two matches. Fellow junior outside hitter Kadence Wolfe added 10 kills and 4 aces while senior setter Abby Allgood had 33 assists and 12 digs for Chestatee. Junior libero Emily Graham had 9 aces and a whopping 18 digs on defense. Junior Payton Cable had 4 kills and 1 block for the Lady War Eagles.
Next up for Chestatee is a tri-match with Dawson County and South Forsyth on Thursday in Dawsonville.
LAKVIEW ACADEMY SPLITS TRI-MATCH IN ATHENS
The Lakeview Academy volleyball team split Tuesday's action in Athens, beating Cedar Shoals and falling in a close one to Clarke Central.
The Lady Lions won both matches against Cedar Shoals 25-12 but fell to the Lady Gladiators in the tiebreaker match, 15-10.
Maggie Rogers (8 kills and 3 aces), Addie Gilmer (13 assists and 3 kills) and Taliah Gaither (8 aces and 4 kills) led the Lady Lions (5-5) in the win.
After falling in the first match to Clarke Central, 25-14, the Lady Lions rallied from a 25-14 deficit to win, 27-25, forcing the tiebreaker match.
Maggie Rogers had 9 kills, and Addie Gilmer scored 11 assists to lead Lakeview in the loss.
Lakeview will host War Hill Christian on Thursday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
