Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner Denise R. Mitchell Tuesday appointed Jeremy M. Collins as chief deputy tax commissioner in the county.
Collins has served the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner’s Office since 2011, but most recently worked as the property tax director for the GCTC since 2022. He will replace Lisa Matic, who has attained a progressively responsible position with the department.
In his new role, Collins will oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, and will be responsible for monitoring customer service, overseeing budgets and contracts, and administrating internal controls and audits.
“Collins brings extensive experience to the position from both the property tax and motor vehicle division,” Mitchell said. “I am confident he will continue to serve the citizens well.”
In 2016, Collins served as manager of property tax prior to serving as director of the division. In both roles he was primarily responsible for billing property tax for the county.
Aside from his experience with GCTC, Collins also has 20 years of experience in management in the private sector in Atlanta
