Gwinnett County Police have identified the victim in a fatal hit-and-run Friday on Buford Drive in Lawrenceville, but they still have not identified a suspect in the case.
A release from the police department Wednesday said the victim has been identified as Shantta Monette, age 36 of Norcross. Officials said Monette was believed to be walking northbound along Buford Drive between Russell Road and Old Peachtree Road around 9:30 p.m.
Police also said she may have been walking with two other people. Monette was seen on surveillance video leaving a nearby gas station about two hours before the incident happened.
Officials said anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Gwinnett County Police.
