The Lumpkin County Animal Shelter will be temporarily closed Wednesday due to maintenance work.
According to a social media post from Lumpkin County Government, roofing work will be conducted on the facility on Red Oak Flats Drive, leading to the closure.
"While we’re pleased to be having this work done, it does mean the area is not safe for visitors," the social media post said.
The post said the shelter may also be closed Thursday, depending on the status of the maintenance.
The shelter can still be contacted by phone during the temporary closure at (706) 867-7297.
