One scratch ticket from Lumpkin County brings home $3 million to a lucky winner

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

As many know from playing games and lotteries, you can't win if you don't play.  One person recently found this to be true in Lumpkin County.

The Georgia State Lottery Corporation has confirmed that one lucky person was able to walk away from a Dahlonega convenience store with what turned out to be a jackpot of a winning scratch ticket.

The unidentified winner cashed in their 100X The Money scratcher with the state's lottery headquarters on Friday, July 18th.  The prize?  Three million dollars!  The winning ticket was purchased at the Fast Stop  convenience store along the 1700 block of Morrison Moore Parkway West in Dahlonega.

Proceeds from the Georgia Lottery scratch-off games benefit education programs throughout the state.

Residents are reminded by officals from  the Georgia Lottery Corporation to always play responsibly, and to be an informed player. More details about this can be found at www.galottery.com.  Players must be 18 years of age or older to buy or try.
