Scattered power outages in Northeast Georgia from Sunday evening storms

By Access WDUN Staff

Severe storms through North Georgia early Sunday evening left damage throughout much of the area.

Thousands of customers with Habersham EMC and Jackson EMC were without services after the storms arrived by 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening, leaving hundreds of utility crews to scramble out for repairs.

As of 2:00 p.m. Monday, nearly 10 Jackson EMC customers remained without power, mainly in Hall, Gwinnett and Lumpkin Counties.

Just over 3,000 Habersham EMC customers remained without services, while crews worked through the overnight hours, mostly in White and Habersham and Banks Counties.
