BUFORD, Ga. — Class 7A No. 2-ranked Buford rolled past Meadowcreek 4-0 on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the Class 7A tournament.

The Lady Wolves (14-2) led 3-0 at the half. Teresa Metz scored off an assist by Sophia Martelli, Shea Owings made it 2-0 off a pass from Neely Kerr, and Abby Kilman added a penalty kick goal to close out the big first half.

From there, the Buford defense never let the Lady Mustangs (9-5-2) get going on offense in front of keeper Nat Dinh, who got the win in goal.

Sophia Martelli dished out her second assist in the second half on a goal by Evany Torres for the final score of the game.

The Lady Wolves await the winner third-ranked Walton and West Forsyth in the Sweet 16 next week.
