A woman from Clarkesville was seriously injured following a single-vehicle wreck Saturday morning in Rabun County.
According to a release from the Georgia State Patrol, Elizabeth Jordan Morgan, 28, crashed her 2001 Chevy Tahoe just after 2:30 a.m. traveling north on Persimmon Road.
Morgan failed to maintain her lane and then after over correcting traveled off the left shoulder of the roadway going into an embankment and striking a tree head-on.
After the initial impact, the SUV rotated one hundred eighty degrees and stuck another tree on the passenger side of the vehicle.
She was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
Morgan faces charges including DUI, failure to maintain lane, driving with no seatbelt and driving too fast for road conditions.
