A Gainesville man was arrested Sunday night for driving under the influence after a single-car crash on Browns Bridge Road.
The Georgia State Patrol said the wreck happened at 10:20 p.m. on Browns Bridge Road near Fincher Drive, west of Gainesville. A report from the agency said Jose Ivan Lopez-Lopez, age 42, was going westbound on Browns Bridge Road in a Chevrolet Silverado when he went off the roadway and hit a culvert.
"After striking the culvert, the Silverado overturned and came to rest in the westbound lane," the state patrol report said.
Lopez-Lopez was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of what authorities called "minor" injuries. He was then taken to the Hall County Jail on DUI and other traffic charges.
No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported. Lopez-Lopez was later released on bond.
The crash left Browns Bridge Road closed for around an hour while officials worked the scene.
