The Gainesville Police Department released Monday the name of the man killed in a two-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on Browns Bridge Road.
Lt. Kevin Holbrook with the agency said the driver of the motorcycle was identified as Shane Copeland, 31.
Holbrook said the crash remained under investigation.
The incident happened at about 4:40 p.m. Friday on Browns Bridge Road at its intersection with Cresswind Parkway.
A Honda motorcycle, driven by Copeland, was reportedly traveling westbound on Browns Bridge when its front end struck a Ford Taurus that was entering the roadway from Cresswind Parkway.
Copeland was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Taurus was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with visible injuries.
Police said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
