Hall County Solicitor General's office to participate in domestic violence conversation

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

The Hall County Solicitor General's office will be participating in a community conversation about intimate partner violence hosted by the Hispanic Alliance of Georgia on Facebook live on February 22 at 1 p.m.

“Let’s Talk About Domestic Violence” is free, online at The Hispanic Alliance GA Facebook page.

Maria Ibarra with the Solicitor’s office will speak at the online event. Ibarra is a tenured victim advocate in the Hall County Solicitor’s Office. She began her career as a paralegal but was later identified as a candidate to help the office connect with Spanish-speaking victims of crime for her communication skills and mental health awareness. Ibarra is also credentialed nationally and with the state of Georgia in victim advocacy.

According to a press release, The Hall County Solicitor’s Office seeks to meaningfully partner with all service agencies that attend to the need of victims of crime, seek cultural awareness by the criminal justice system, and to bring stability and health to the community and families.

Since 2017, the Hispanic Alliance has been active in the local community working in educational, housing, public health, and civic engagement spaces to serve the Latino community.
