HIAWASSEE, Ga. — The Union County boys and Rabun County girls both came away with Battle of the States titles on Saturday at the Towns County gym.
The Union boys (12-2) won their seventh straight game with a 75-59 win over Rabun County. It was the third victory over their arch-rivals this season.
Houston Henry led the way with 22 points. Hayden Hughes added 18 points and Jude Ellis had 16 points for the Panthers.
In the girls game, the Lady Wildcats defended their BOS title and ran their win streak to four straight with a 62-52 win over Union County.
Lucy Hood, who was named the tournament MVP, had a huge game with 28 points and 5 assists to lead Rabun County (10-4). Mili Watts added 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals and Ellie Southards had 5 points and 5 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats.
