A man from Pensacola, Florida was arrested Thursday after an investigation into two separate three-year-old residential burglaries led to his identification.

Steven Mack Diamond, 54, was taken into custody Thursday and is now facing charges in two residential burglaries on Pine Shore Circle in Gainesville more than three years ago, according to spokeswoman B.J. Williams.

Both burglaries happened on April 14, 2020. In one instance, a homeowner reported the theft of a necklace and a gold coin. In the other burglary, the homeowner reported the theft of a set of kitchen knives.

An investigation revealed that Diamond had been in both residences after officials linked him to the sale of the stolen gold coin at a pawn shop in South Georgia on the same date the burglaries occurred.

Warrants for Diamond’s arrest were issued by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office on April 9, 2021.

Diamond was also wanted for similar crimes in other states, according to investigators.

He is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond as of the last report.
