Peach State Federal Credit Union’s annual toy drive for the Marine Toys for Tots program was a reported success with branch locations in the region being used to gather holiday gifts.

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program collects new, unwrapped toys and delivers them as holiday gifts to less fortunate children in the community, according to Peach State officials.

“The annual toy drive unites all of us in the holiday spirit by helping families in need and giving back to our communities,” Demitra Houlis, Peach State’s Chief Administrative Officer and Foundation President said. “It’s one of the many efforts that align with the credit union’s C.A.R.E.S Foundation, which supports local charities, food banks and school systems with the goal of helping our communities thrive. The Foundation helps bring the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’ to life and we’re proud to support the efforts of Toys for Tots program.”

The C.A.R.E.S. Foundation was introduced in 2021 to help neighbors by using contributions throughout the area.

“Because of the C.A.R.E.S. Foundation, meaningful contributions are made within local communities that positively impact the lives of those who live in them,” Senior Vice President of Marketing Kristen Patton said.

The foundation is funded by the credit union’s Visa Debit Card program and through private donors. Since the inception of the Visa Debit Card program, Peach State has reportedly raised more than $2 million, which has been donated to charitable organizations, schools and arts in the communities that Peach State serves.
