BRUNSWICK, Ga. — The North Forsyth girls dominated from the tip en route to a 58-40 win over Bradwell Institute in the Hoopin’ at the High Invitational at Brunswick High School on Thursday.
The fourth-ranked Lady Raiders (9-0) jumped out to a 22-7 lead over the seventh-ranked Lady Tigers (9-1), powered by Josie Cheatham, Emma Rose, London Weaver and Gabbie Gliatta, in the first quarter.
Cheatham, who finished with eight points, had two 3s in the opening quarter, Rose hit for five points, Gliatta with three and Weaver with four.
Gliatta led the Lady Raiders with 16 points, and London Weaver finished with 10.
In the second quarter, the Lady Raiders cooled off a bit, allowing Bradwell to cut the lead to 10 points by halftime, 30-20.
After a slow start to the second half, Gliatta hit for eight points, 6 from the 3-point line, to spark the Lady Raiders to a 50-26 lead by the end of the third period.
The Lady Tigers outpaced NoFo in the fourth quarter, 14-8.
Parris Parham led the Lady Tigers with 17 points -- 11 in the fourth quarter.
NoFo will play Brunswick on Friday at Brunswick. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
