Girls basketball scoreboard: Black hits double-double in CHS win; Buford, NHall, EaFo, LCA win

LOGANVILLE, Ga. — Riley Black scored 27 points and pulled 15 rebounds to lead the Chestatee girls basketball team past Walnut Grove, 54-48, on the road Tuesday.

It was the Lady War Eagles (6-1, 2-0 Region 8-4A North) fourth straight win.

Caroline Bull added 13 points and four rebounds, and Jamya Weaver had six points and nine rebounds. Chestatee went on the road tonight and defeated Walnut Grove 54-48. Riley Black had 27 points and 15 rebounds.

Chestatee will travel to East Forsyth on Friday in sub-region play. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

BUFORD 64,
RABUN GAP 51

Ava Grace Watson scored 24 points, and Betty Nguyen netted 15 to lead the Lady Wolves past Rabun Gap at home on Tuesday. 

Rabun Gap led 11-10 after the first quarter, but a 21-point Buford second quarter, led by Watson, Nguyen and Izzy Rettiger, who scored a combined 19 points in the quarter, pushed the Lady Wolves ahead 31-24 at the half. After that, they never looked back, outpacing Rabun Gap 33-27 in the second half to take the win. 

Rettiger finished with eight points, while Lydia Ledford had 11. 

EAST FORSYTH 77,
NORTH OCONEE 73

The Lady Broncos (6-3, 1-1 Region 8-4A North) had five players in double-digits in a huge Region 8-4A win at North Oconee (5-2, 2-0 Region 8-4A South) on Tuesday.

Ayla Heard led EaFo with 23 points. Haley Hiddema knocked down 17 points, Caroline Castleberry and Addison Rouse each scored 11, and Hollyn Hicks chipped in 10 points in the win.

NORTH HALL 66, 
CEDAR SHOALS 36

Athena Vachtsevanos scored 22 points, and Martha Vachtsevanos had 10 points to lead the Lady Trojans to the win over Cedar Shoals at home on Tuesday.

Braelyn McCall added nine points, five steals and five rebounds. 

LANIER CHRISTIAN 51, 
KILLIAN HILL 2

The Lady Lightning (6-5, 1-0) blew past Killian Hill to pick up their first region win on Tuesday at home.

Emma Flowers led LCA with 16 points.
