2nd suspect charged in October Buford homicide

A second suspect was recently charged in connection with a homicide that took place in Buford in mid-October.

According to an updated press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, Demetrick Davis, 46, of Versailles, KY, was arrested Sunday by the Lexington Kentucky Police Department. He was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the October 16 shooting death of Quentin Cantrell, 35, on Allen St. in Buford.

The agency previously announced charges had been taken out against Rodericus Jackson, 33, of Buford, in connection with the murder. Jackson remained at large as of Monday.

Police said they responded to a home on Allen St. in Buford at about 3 a.m. on Oct. 16. Officers found Cantrell inside a parked vehicle at the home with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The investigation is still active.
